Ashampoo Music Studio 2009 - FREE Special Version

Hi friends! It’s been a while since we haven’t talked about an Ashampoo product! And since our latest post was  also a music related one … Here’s the free promotion for Ashampoo Music Studio 2009 ! ( unfortunately this is not a solution for our friend Phantom )

We’re happy to talk again about the german quality coming from Ashampoo, like we have done it for WinOptimizer 4 , Burning Studio 2009 -1 and BS 2009 - 2 , WinOptimizer 5 , PowerUp 2009 , Photo Optimizer 2 and Photo Commander 6 .

Ashampoo Music Studio 2009 is the light version of the latest Ashampoo Music Studio 3 ( worth $ 29,99 ) which ” includes everything you need to create, edit and manage your digital music collection. “

When compairing the GUI screen shots we have noticed the missing features on the 2009 Special Edition :

- the entire “Organize Files” module ( automatic renaming and moving )
- the entire “Record audio” module ( from microphone, line in, … )
-  in the “Modify Files” module it does not have the “Edit Files “( cut, mixt, modify ) feature
- in the “Burn Files” module it does not have the “Burn an MP3 CD/DVD/Blu-ray” feature ( playable with many modern CD/DVD/Blu-ray players )

So we must deduct these missing features from the list on the official site :

Ashampoo Music Studio 3 at a glance:

What’s new and cool:

* Multi-format CD ripping: You can now rip tracks directly from audio CDs to WMA, MP3, Ogg, FLAC or WAV files. The files are stored directly while you are ripping, no conversion needed.
* Audio recording: Record directly from any audio source (microphone, aux, line in etc.) to WMA, MP3, Ogg, FLAC or WAV files. Here too, the files are stored directly as you record. You can also record from multiple sources at the same time using the Windows mixer.
* File organization: You can now rename multiple audio files using patterns like %artist% - %title%. You can also use the feature to move files to specified folders. These features are great for organizing your music collection.
* Audio file editing: Extensive new audio editing features. You can convert audio tracks to different formats and quality settings. You can cut, mix and modify your tracks as you like. You can normalize the volume of your tracks to a standard level. You can add effects like fade in and fade out. You can mix tracks and add crossfades. You can change the volume. You can insert silence or replace sound with silence. You can insert split markers to cut long audio files into manageable pieces.
* CD, DVD and Blu-ray burning: The program’s burning features have been further improved. In addition to burning audio and MP3 CDs you can now burn DVDs and Blu-ray discs with audio files. Here too, you can use all the formats supported by the program (WMA, MP3, Ogg, FLAC, and WAV) and you can also burn mixed-format CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs.
* Extended playlist import support: You can now also import playlists from WinAmp M3U, PLS, ASX, P4U and WPL formats.
* Improved damaged file repair features: The program can find, repair and move damaged audio files in all the following formats: MP3, Ogg, FLAC, WAV.
* Integrated cover editor: Supports jewel case and label formats.”

I’m not a fan of all Ashampoo products. No offense meant, just my personal point of view.
I must admit their burning products are good. Since this software includes the burning module, I’ll give it a try . Keep them coming guys!

I have Ahampoo Burning Studio 2009 installed on my PC and it covers all my needs , so I see no point in installing Music Studio, though I think this program is also of high quality as most products made by Ashampoo.
Now I use Ashampoo Office 2008, Uninstaller Platinum and Burning Studio 2009 and I am very happy with them because they never let me down.

I find Ashampoo products to be rather hit and miss, i have had several full, paid versions in the past of their various system tools and burning studio, some worked great and some not, but the biggest gripe i have with them is that they spam you to death, my advice is to use a disposable email to avoid this. Anyway guys good effort on getting this before anyone else.

    1 point
Hi there! This issue - the e-mail spamming by Ashampoo - has been discussed before. I can tell you by the e-mails used here - on 4 Free, that 90% of internet users don’t use their official address. Emails from Ashampoo have recently brought some good free software so people shouldn’t fear that newsletter that much.
    Regards!

Vow! The number of my Ashampoo products are rising! I even purchased their Office suite (in fact a customized version of Softmaker Office - another Deutsch company). As the other Ashampoo registered users. I often receive promotion offers from them and I am happy with it.

tks. One more Ashampoo for my collection. Unfortunately sometimes their software “overlaps” in functions, so one end’s up using more disk space than really required by duplicating functions. But while I have HD space it’s OK!

DL and installed without any problems. When I ran it, I saw a button for “Fix Broken File Assistant” and gave it a try. It scanned my music collection and found a bunch of “broken files” and offered to repair them. I said ok. It took some time to complete but it said that it repaired them. Interesting!
I don’t know what was broken, the original and the repaired versions sound the same to me. I’m sure that it did something, I just don’t know what.
It only seems to work with wav files as it ignored all of my mp3 files.

    1 point
Your comment can misslead other readers just because you’re saying you don’t understand. Hope you’re not doing it intentionally. At a first sight those WAV files were the only ones needing reparation. Congrats ! You have good quality mp3 on your PC !

    Feedback:

As far as burning into Audio DVD [i used a rewritable DVD] it went smooth tried only with mp3 as i keep songs only in this format..n flac..

There was error converting two .mp3 files, so it means it can detect files that are damaged and will not be good to burn so it skipped those.
U can also cancel or continue the burn process when this error is found but the error showed up in middle of the burn process so a disc may get wasted…should have analysed the files b4

“Broken File Assistant”, to repair the music files supports only ogg, wav, wma and flac so could not try these files….
    on new songs burn:
Good it could identify disc on mutisession so the other files got added with the previous ones and the xml file consisted those songs too..no idea how recordables would work bcoz mine was rewritable..

While burning u can also adjust the bitrate for the audio disc…

Burning possible with only wma format or it can aslo be mixed…
Tried mixed burn with flac and it got added to the disc smoothly xml file updated….

The quality of conversion is good……..
    Interface is cool…
    Its easy to use..
    2 MOdes: Normal and Expert
Normal will help a lot by giving explanation for things..whereas expert a few..

Conversion also supports only formats mentioned above…i.e. ogg, wav, wma and flac
Normalize File Volume works for those formats only..
Tags of file is also possible for above formats…

Could not try Rip as i didn’t have an audio CD at hand as they said Rip Audio Cd so mine DVD was waste..

Final view limited to formats ogg, wav, wma and flac except while burning….

Did not try print cover labels…dont have a light scribe disc with me right now..

    Registration went easy…

Hope i didn’t waste precious time of ur by making u read all these…

Perfect download , install and registration . Very modern GUI for everything I have ever needed for my music library. Note I’m not a pro. Just my usual stuff: riping & burning audio CDs, Too bad it does not burn mp3. Instead I ejoyed the Cover editor.
I imagine AMS 3 is really great but I’m happy with this free light edition.

Another very nice addition to my Ashampoo treasure chest–I have installed twenty or more of their programs from free offers like this and still have over half of them (there was some overlap) because they are all good quality German engineering, like you said. A plus in my case and that of any other program collectors out there is that they all install to the same folder on my hard drive so they don’t take up but one line in my All Programs list and are always easy to find when I need one of them. Of course it helps that the Ashampoo brand is so well known, but I wish other developers/publishers would follow their practice of grouping their software in one folder. By the way, thanks for telling us up front what German word to look for to download the offer. It always helps to know what you’re looking for instead of having to guess or hit and miss when clicking.

    2 points
“installed twenty or more Ashampoo programs”. Wow you’re a real fan ! It’s true they’re perfectly doing their job. I can recognize the irony about the translation of the german “download”. There are other so called “software reviewers” using tons of screen-shots with pop-ups saying “click here to download”. So there is much worth than us ! :-)
    Regards !

Would you believe it? I have the full versions of the following excellent ashampoo software installed and each activated in my PC for one year at no cost.

    Burning Studio 8
    Burning Studio 2009
    Music Studio 2009
    Photo Commander 6
    Photo Optimizer 2
    PowerUp 2009
    WinOptimizer 5

Personally, I consider Burning Studio 8 as my prize catch.

    These are my general observations:

    1. Every application is always updatable within the numbered version each time a new “build” becomes available.

    2. Regardless of whether you downloaded installation files provided by Chip (DE), ComputerBild (DE) or VNUNet (GB), and therefore bearing different “build” numbers, the registration key that ashampoo GmbH gives you is the same for a particular SW version. Contrary to popular perception, you won’t get msessed up if you mix up. However, that key is unique for your registered ashampoo account. You can get a different license when you register under another email address.

By the way, I still can’t figure out a wish list of at least three … darn!

    3 points
Hi Mei ! Why do you need Burning Studio 2009 anymore , if you have BS 8 ?
    Thanks for the feedback !

  33. Ness
    17 April, 2009

This looks tempting but I don’t need it right now, I am lazy about fiddling with playlist and tagging and burning and cataloging. I have a folder with classics that I play in trusty old winamp. Its all I need. But those looking for a decent music management tool cannot go wrong with this. Looks good and I have told a few of my friends with huge music collections to get the music studio while the offer lasts.
Don’t pay too much attention to Ashampoo emails, they do seem to have loads of products that I never knew of, so I find the emailers useful. Also received a free offer for winoptimizer 5 a couple of days ago. So they are nice like that.
Looking forward to more great stuff from Ashampoo. Cheers guys :)

I actually installed BS 8 first, sometime in January. Without reading any deeper, I thought BS 2009 was more advanced.

In fact, both share the same latest build (version 8.04) — only, the latter has a number of “commercial” features clipped. So I’m not using BS 2009 … unless you count making my ashampoo SW list look more impressive =))

In each case, though, ashampoo readily gave out the license gratis et amore ;-p
