Expert PDF 5 Professional AND TuneUp Utilities 2008 Easter Gifts From CHIP.de ( Outdated )
Hi friends !
Franck - the french friend who shared with us the LiberKey portable apps suite article - send us an email about the CHIP.de easter promotions. ( you have to click on the right egg for every daily promotion ) 
We have answered to Franck we have seen CHIP’s newsletter in our e-mail but haven’t got the time to open it.
We have checked if the news is already popular and we have decided to not publish it yesterday, seeing that many sites have already talked about it. Not that it would have not be important for our readers … But we were very busy with our common project and the time we would have checked it and write an article , the 24 hrs promotion would have vanished.
We have also noticed that none of the bloggers talking about TUU 2008 promotion did not informed their readers about the main promotion page - the one with the eggs game - like we did. This is what we hate the most ! A cheap trick to probably write another article the second day and to get traffic, of course. They are aloud to do it but these small details make them getting a bad reputation among readers understaning what’s happening. To see the difference just look on how we have written about Avanquest Event Calendar Promotion and you’ll see that our readers have been informed about all details from the very first article. We have let our readers decide if they’ll read our next articles, while being able to go directly on the promotion pages. No secrets to bring us traffic ( read money ) !

- Expert PDF 5 Professional CHIP Promotion Page. Register and download from this Avanquest Page. Just write your e-mail address and click on “Downloaden” ( see screen shots ). You’ll arrive on another download page where you already got the serial key.(you’ll find it in your e-mail as well)
UPDATE 1 :
For some reasons the registration on the Avanquest promotion doesn’t always work directly by simply writing an e-mail address, like explained above. It might be a question of E-Mail address ( or IP ? ) but if you’re not directly qualified you must become a member of the German Avanquest Club in order to access the eXpert PDF 5 promotion. Go to this Avanquest Club Registration Page ( click on OK to access the form ) and fill in your e-mail address and names AND MAYBE YOU SHOULD LIVE DEUTSCHLAND for the country ( it worked with a Gmail address ). Click on the big green button “Software jetzt gratis downloaden” ( see the bottom screen-shot ) and there you have the key and download page !
We’re a bit surprised none of our friends has not told us all about this modification … And that the key is unique.
BUT PLEASE BECOME MEMBERS OF Avanquest Club in order to obtain and use this software legally !
Since we don’t think you need the german version for these softwares you might want to get the english versions with these workarounds:
- for TUU 2008 you should download the ZIP file from CHIP.de BUT don’t run the installer. Just unzipp it and find your serial key in the “.txt” file. The key is unique.
So you just have to download the official english trial version and use this serial key.
- for Expert PDF 5 Professional download the archived version from Visagesoft and use the serial key you have obtained on Avanquest’s registration page.
UPDATE 2: From feedbacks in comment you must know that the first workaround - the english version from Visagesoft - IS NOT WORKING . The english setup file ( 22,2 Mo ) has less than half of the german setup file ( 46 Mo ).
The second workaround - deleting the Resources file ( from C:\Program Files\Visagesoft\eXPert PDF\Resources ) in order to revert to the english version - IS WORKING . But CHIP’s download directory seems to be overrunned for the moment. No problem ! You may try later , they should normally fix it.

The workaround on deleting the french files ( german this time ) - from our Expert PDF 4 article - should work too.
Since we haven’t checked the two workarounds for Expert PDF 5 we need your help to confirm in comments if they’re working. ( A bit unprofessional but that’s the reality : we’re working on more important things FOR ALL OF US ! )

Sorry I haven’t tried it in this case yet, but as with almost all SW offerings from non-English websites, I’ve found success in reverting the user interface to English by simply deleting any or all other language localization files present in the installation folder.

I would like to point out that if v5 is similar to v4, v5 is probably upgradeable to v6 by downloading v6 trial and running an uninstall and reinstall using the v6 installer after you have installed and registered v5.
I am aware that the automatic upgrade only works on some computers, for the rest, you have to export product id and serial keys from HKLM … after installing v5 (before any uninstallation) and then reimporting those 2 keys after v6 installation.
If you are not comfortable messing with the registry, don’t do the upgrade, because you need to wipe clean the entire installation (not easy) if your upgrade is unsuccessful and you want to re-install the lower v5.

Tune Up Utilities 2008, well this product is great I have been using 2007 from their promotion now time for 2008. Easy to use product optimizes PC like anything, no other program for defrag, registry or for fixing required…ALL IN ONE

I have always wanted to try the TuneUp Utilities. I have already used eXpert PDF before, not v5, but v4, and it works quite nicely.
Another alternative to eXpertPDF would be PDFCreator. It installs like a printer on your PC and allows you to create any file and “print” it to PDF with full control over security of the PDF and everything. Quite nice, I have been using it for a long time. Really comes in handy for those online receipts instead of wasting printer paper and toner/ink.

Tune up utilities 2008 is a great time saver (try doing what it does via Windows tools/command line/scripts and you will know what i mean) the defragger is a handy addition over the 2007 version.Also works on Vista. A must have! Expert PDF Pro 5 is a real gem, it will convert to PDF and also allow you to edit (add/remove text and images to PDF files) just like Adobe PDF, but not as costly (well free with this find). I bought version 6 because of how good i found this software to be. Definately 2 great applications to grab while we can.

Hi Nessa ! If you’re not an absolute beginner in computers and internet ( and I’m sure you’re not ) I KNOW you can manage to find PROFESSIONAL reviews and comparaisons for the softwares we find in promotions … By simply using Google.
We would have done it for you if we were not that busy ( Sorry everybody ! )
But don’t let yourself tricked by so-called reviewers using a lot of screen shots, cheap conclusions or other people’s phrases. Though they’re somehow useful in their race for getting traffic ( money ) : they help us appreciate the REAL GOOD Reviewers.
You’ll see how the community will support the real tech-savvy guys who’ll generously find the time to review softwares.

Downloaded and installed expert pdf,but when I tried to reg,it sais invalid key or e-mail,even though I got the reg mail from avanquest…well,that’s life…As for Tuneup utilities,install and reg went smoothly.I previously had an older version of this nice tool,so this upgrade was just what the doctor ordered 
It’s a nice piece of software,a must have for all pc enthusiasts,has all the tools from repairing errors to customizing your desktop look.I highly recommend it.Thanks team for this cool Easter gift,cheers!

Hi Z ! For eXpert PDF you mean it is not working with the english version from Visagesoft ? Then download and install the german version and delete the german language files. This is why we have asked for feedbacks. Keep us informed please !

Downloaded and installed fine on xp sp2 (TUU 2008).
I have a problem entering serial key for expert pdf 5. Do I have to enter the online registration, since they ask an order ID (Avanquest serial key?) and a registration e-mail (my e-mail?)…???

The DL link from Visagesoft is working. Have you clicked on the blue “download button”? You get “expertpdf_v5_pro.exe” ( 22,2 Mo ). The problem is this file has less than half of the german setup file ( 46 Mo ). The other workaround - deleting the “deutsch language” files - should work better.
As an additional note to Digital Devon’s note, want to suggest that Bullzip may be an even more feature-rich freeware as compared to PDFCreator - it has everything that PDF Creator offers and additionally, it supports image compression, has better watermarking options, supports 64-bit systems and has more stable and consistent output.
The fly in the ointment would probably be the inability to preserve hyperlinks (which expertPDF can do). A freeware with comparable ability would be primopdf, except that reviews of the latest versions have not been favourable (ie delayed application launch).

Hi all,just seems that this ain’t my lucky day…I tried to download expert pdf from the german site,but it was coming down so slow,that after 2 hrs it still was just half down.Not to mention that the download server gave me errors about too many connections…finally,the download simply dropped itself,and the files ended up corrupted(incomplete).Hope you guys have better luck than me with this one…this just ain’t my day:)

I downloaded and installed the archived PDF 5 from Vigagesoft with no problem, but I can’t register the key from Avanquest. The Avanquest download page is hopelessly slow. How can I register the archived English version I’ve installed? vsregister in the installed folder asks for an order ID-the Avanquest key is not accepted. Neither desktop icon (pdf creator & editor) have a registration option I can find. I had the same problem with version 4 and ended up unistalling it.

Jes, let me explain where I did get the download, I first try on avanquest Dl site where you put your e-mail and name, did fail 4 times, then I did try thru the e-mail you get, but there they want a name and code to DL from their server, then I did try to find it on avanquest homepage, but there they only have PDF Expert 6 pro, so I did finish to read your article and could see that you did give a alternative link ( where you colored the text blue) jes there I did get it, form your link. No problem at all from there ;o)

You need to use a download manager for the German version and it still takes about 30 minutes.
I have the program in English now could someone please tell me how to get a Help File in English?
And I would be very interested to know why the German download is twice the size of those available on every other site I’ve looked at?

I am collecting for posterity, I now have 2006, 2007 (installed), and 2008.
The concensus seems to be that 2007 was the best version and 2009 is missing 1 component in comparison, not sure about 2008.

I dl and installed TUU2008 and played around with it a little. It seemed to be a worthwhile program. However, sometime later I tried to install another program and got errors that some files did not install and to try installing the program again. I did this twice without it working. Thinking that something that I did in TUU was the problem, I went into Rescue to undo the changes that it made. To my surprise, it told me that there was no backup file. I couldn’t undo the changes.
I then uninstalled TUU and reinstalled the other program without any problems.
I’m confused as to what the problem is but will try to figure it out.

1/ As I already, I prefer not to even try any optimization tool. My computer runs quite well, and these programs could only mess everything up…
I’ll stick to ccleaner and o&o defrag and some specfic softwares (as autoruns from sysinternals…)

I downloaded & installed TU2008. Its a big upgrade on TU2007. Lots more tweaks and modules. The drive and registry defrag modules are particularly useful. It seems much more comprehensive and well thought out than 2007. My favourite optimiser/tweaker is still Yamicsoft-vista manager…but this is a much closer second than TU2007 was !

Hi Mario! Concise comments are advisible, we have already said it. Anyone should keep the “review option” for the Forum. Targeted feedbacks are the most appreciated.
I’m aware about a so-called “complete review” ( many screen-shots and phony conclusions ), somewhere else, on a copycat blog who’s trying to copy everything from 4 Free ( subjects, style, attitude ) lying about his anonymous sources. Apparently this guy is retarded since he’s not able to have his own concept.
So maybe you shouldn’t bother with that review.
It is enough that 4 Free was the first to tell about this great promotion. And you have seen how the community reacted and fast feedbacks gaved us all the good answers.
That’s our most important asset !

Thank you by the link. I download de german version and it works perfectly, but the trial versions in english don’t run with the key which appears in Internet.

Hi there ! If you say that “the german version works perfectly” should I understand you speak ( understand ) german ? … Or that you have read the “Update no 2″ and reverted to the english version by simply deleting the file called Resources ?
The same “Update no 2 ” tells the english trial version is actually not working with the german promotion key.

Sorry by the incomplete info about the link. I tried to explain that the link that works is Avanquest Page and the way to use the software in English is, as you explain, delating the file Resources. Of course, I don’t understand german and my native language is Spanish and when I tried to revert the program to Spanish copying the Resources folder from the trial version in my language, the trick doesn’t work. Do you know how to translate eXPert to other language different to English? Thanks and my best regards.
