Free Advanced WindowsCare Professional And Titan Backup + Other Free Sharewares ( Outdated )

Hello friends!

Like always we’ve got 2 alternatives when we’re announcing a hot find. Though the other one is a more exclusive one, we have chosen the Brothersoft promotion for 5 sharewares because :

1. It contains 2 important names : Advanced WindowsCare v2 Professional  and Titan Backup.
2. It is not yet popular on the web, though very handy … And it feels good to be ( among ) the first to let people know about a promotion
:-)

You all know Brothersoft.com - one of the biggest software directory for freeware and shareware download. Our friend gooiool put a comment on our PhotoPos ( Brothersoft’s Promotion ) article letting us all know about some negative aspects, about Brothersoft.com, on the McAfee Site Advisor .

.

Let’s be serious ! Not saying gooiool was not right to prevent us but … Possible false positive can be found on every download directory ( if you absolutely want to find something ). So everybody please don’t open this subject in comments. Let’s just focus on the softwares!

This is a public promotion but we never know when the owner will end it.  All  visitors of Brothersoft.com can download special versions - with no time limit - for Advanced WindowsCare Professional, Titan Backup, Plato Video to iPhone Converter, TheWorld Browser ( Christmas version ) and  Christmas Adventure Screensaver.
All you have to do is to sign up on Brothersoft.com and access “Free Shareware” in your account. ( see screen shots ) .

UPDATE

We don’t usually describe the Registration Steps when it is about A NORMAL REGISTRATION ON A WEBSITE.  Since a reader was unable to find how to Sign Up for a Brothersoft account, and asked us in comments,  here’s the direct link for the “Free registration to Brothersoft.com” Page

Also from feedbacks in comments it seems that not all IPs can see “Free Shareware” ( in the right upper side - see screen shot in below ) to click on and arrive on the registration page ( it is surely working with different US and europeean IPs ). Please confirm!

.

.

1. Titan Backup - “an easy-to-use and complete solution for home and small offices, designed for secure backups of your important data.”
Note:The registration code can be found from “serial_key.txt” in the .zip file. ( 6,1 Mo )

This is maybe the most valuable free offer in this list because it is about a newer version - 2.0.2.39 - than the older ( and more popular ) promotion for V 1,5, covered in our article Titan Backup 1,5 For Free .
Note that ONE Licence of the latest version is V 2,5 worth $39.95. The major improvement seems to be the support for backing up open files using the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). Read more HERE.

But when compairing  V 2.0.2.39 with V 1,5 notice the “new feature for compressed backups which enables you to individually compress each file in the source.”
You can read here all the V 1,5 bugs fixed with this newer version. The good news is thatTitan Backup is much faster now!
We’ve found fair these details about compression performance : “We understand that the zip feature now works a little slower than before. This is because in order to break the 4GB limit of a ZIP, we had to replace the older ZIP32 format with ZIP64, and this works a little slower. The performance is also affected by the number of files, not only by the size of them. If you have many small files, they will processed slower than one big file. Use incremental so that on the second run, it will processo only the changed files. Also you can deselect the Verify feature to make it work faster. We recommend that you always update to the latest version of the program as we are continuously optimizing and improving the program.”

Official features:

“- easy to use wizard-driven interface
- create backup of your most important data: backup files, windows registry, mails and user settings
- run synchronization operations to stay updated anytime with your files.
- having many free plug-ins installed by default, Titan Backup allows you to easily backup emails
and rules for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Firefox, Opera, Thunderbird, Eudora, Windows settings, system registry and more…
- easily restore files from backups
- use any kind of storage device: internal or external hard disks, LAN, CD/DVD, removable media devices (USB sticks, memory sticks, flash memory, floppy disks, ZIP disks, JAZ, etc.), remote locations using FTP

- schedule your tasks
- create task events
- protect your backup privacy with 256-bit AES strong encryption
- create self-extracting backups and standard Zip64 archives
- filter the files you want to include in your backup
- version control, incremental and differential backups
- detailed logs of all backup operations …”

If one doesn’t like Titan Backup we strongly recommend Macrium Reflect free edition.

2. Advanced WindowsCare v2 Professional - “provides an Always-On and Automated, All-In-One PC Care Service with anti-spyware, privacy protection, performance tune-ups, and system clean.”

Note:The registration code can be found from “readme.txt” in the .zip file. ( 6,9 Mo )

This Iobit software is maybe the best set of tools there is! Unfortunately not the last version ( V 3 )- with its modern GUI - in this promotion. This is why we don’t say “Wow ! This is the hottest find  ever!”
But “pro” and “free” are always good! And this offer seems to not have the 1 year limit like an older CHIP promotion for the same software.
You can always get the free version of V3 ( only having the basic PC care ) or a 6 month limited V3 from Raymond.cc . We personally find these very limited promotions - only 3 or 6 month - more useful for the developers than the users. That’s why we never publish them.

Features ( quote ):

“* An “Install It and Forget It” feature that works automatically and quietly in the background on your computer.
* The ability to constantly keep your computer safe, error-free and running at its top speed and optimum performance.
* Keeping your PC error-free and running more smoothly than ever.
* Fix registry errors.
* Remove spyware and adware.
* Immunize security threats.
* Clean temporary files.
* Optimize Windows startup.
* Protect privacy.
* Speed up system.
* Repair core system.
* 1-click solution.
* System tune up.
* Automatic care in the background.
* Automatic high speed updates.
* Dedicated 24/7 support.
* Consent for commercial use.
* Designed for Windows Vista, XP, and 2000.”

On the Brothersoft’s Promotion Page you’ll also have :

3. Plato Video to iPhone Converter  V 4.85.

“Convert rm divx xvid avi wmv asf mpg vob mov mp4 3gp swf nsv to apple iphone.” A  well known  video converter  but the version looks a bit old. The latest version - V 7.88 - worth $24.95.
There are a lot of powerful video converters-freewares out there.

4. TheWorld Browser ( Christmas version ) - “A fast, safe, and easy way to browse the Web.The custom version for BrotherSoft.Surfing Internet.”

click on images for original size view

5. Christmas Adventure Screensaver :-(

Our conclusion: Titan Backup V 2.0.2.39 and  Advanced WindowsCare v2 Professional - not having the usual 1 year limit - are important tools anybody would like to have.

Enjoy!

Regards to our good friend Peter! ;-)

    You have come through again!
    1. Get Titan Backup - Use it!
    I already acquired a version from another source - easy to use and does it’s job. I see that the current version is now 2.5.0.177, and my version is also newer ( I was able to upgrade with no switching back to shareware - will be interested to see if same works for this version).
    2. Advanced System Care Pro - I haven’t tried this, but I did check out other sites to see what is being said. Recommend you set a system restore point or make a backup (yay Titan!) first. While some people say they have no problems, others say that it can slow down their systems, and reported various other problems. The interface is also said to have advertising built in - that’s a negative to me. It does, however,seem to have a great feature set, so if it works on yours - keep it!

    RE: Titan Backup.
    I evaluated a host of freeware backup programs a while ago, and picked Titan Backup as the best:
    - full and incremental backups
    - unattended (i.e. scheduled and automatic) backups
    - uses Zip file format, so doesn’t need proprietary software to restore
    - very easy to select files/folders to include/exclude
    - option to verify backup
    - can backup files in use [Note: I have never had success in achieving this, even though I have Volume Shadow Service turned on in Windows. With partition imaging, same problem with DriveImage XML; but Acronis backs up files in use without any hesitation.].

I see only the “Free Registration” sign at the upper left corner which asks for my e-mail address but nothing happens there like Dave said. I don’t see any other registration button on the page. Am I supposed to register as an author? Give me a hint guys! Your help is needed.

    Hi George! That Free Registration is not working!
    Just sign in and login normally ( black upper side )

    i have already used it and its good one.

    according to me the best features are:
    * the user interface is clean and clearly shows the user, the
    available tasks - i mean damn easy/user friendly
    *restore - again quick and very easy
    *sync task - i quite liked the sync feature. like the backup task you can select multiple destination types and schedule the sync.

    weaknesses: no online backup

    Thanks for the free sharewares.

    I downloaded Titan and Advanced WindowsCare.

    There are many freeware backup programs but universally they lack the ability to do incremental backups.
    Titan Backup does both full and incremental backups.Add to this the fact that it can do unattended backups and that make this software a keeper. [Plus it's very simple to use].

    These are nice finds.
    I grabbed Titan Backup and AWC but I’m not sure I have use of them.

    Actually, I use the free version of syncback that fits my need for local backup.
    http://www.2brightsparks.com/freeware/freeware-hub.html
    For backup to remote server I use another program I once got in a magazine called natso backup.

    This Titan backup would have definetely been a major hot find if the he support for backing up open files using the Volume Shadow Copy Service had been implemented in it. As we are given away an older version, I don’t think I’ll change my current backup tools.

    Regarding AWC, it grabbed it for fun, but I dislike this kind of programs. Usually they do any sensitive good and you take the risk of totally screwing up your computer…
    For maintenance, I’ll use CCleaner. Very efficient to free disk space; and it’s registry cleaning tool maybe isn’t spectacular but is really careful with your registry.
    I prefer some garbage left in my registry than an screwd up registry…

    Defragmenting is also part of maintenance. I use o&o defrag, with I got with an important rebate once on avanquest.

    ANd that’s it…

    Be very careful with maintenance tools.
    Their dangers are undubitable, but their usefulness is…

    The article is obviously about AWC and NOT the new ASC. Being an Iobit product as well it must have the same “excellent” quality. I’m sure the developer will confirm that, if you ask him.

    Hi!

    Must say, I am not so big fan of AWC. Just because, it want install some hidden (registry items) software also. I found this kind of problem about two years ago. As I see it, NOT so good, if PRO software uses this kind of method. Also, I haven’t seen no one person, who wrote for the net about it. (But just now there is one comment - Jeff - about in built advertising).

    These registry items are well hidden, so you can not find these easily. I have installed jv16 (macecraft.com). It is possible test this software for free 30 days. There is “System Tools”, click it, then click “Software Uninstaller” and you can see all your softwares. There is “outstanding” list of AWC! “Thank you AWC” very much!
    You can find; Author and Software: Borland & Delphi, Niko Mak Computing & Winzip, Rarlab & WinRAR and still one author, JetCar, RealNetworks&RealPlayer.
    You can uninstall all easily, but as soon as you start AWC again and you don’t block Internet connection with firewall, these programs (registry items) are back again. Do you like it?

    3 points
    Hi Petri ! Why don’t we have your 3 giveaway wishes from an old friend like you ? I assure you it’s important for all of us.

    I did not need Titan so passed this time. Advanced WindowsCare v2 was one I tried previously. I would suggest using the modules seperately rather than the one click module as that sits in your tray using resources. ( It found many false positives for me also, so be carefull with registry clean i.e. check all it wants to delete individually and backup before cleaning )
    If you have a good antivirus & antispyware already installed you should turn off the module on AWC. . To be honest, I would use TuneUp Utilities 2007 (still here on 4-free ) rather than AWC… together with Spyware Terminator which is also excellent freeware. (also includes antivirus module which you should, again, turn off if you already run a good antivirus app )

    Well no products previous can be the same as their next version…
    There will always be some enhancement in it otherwise what is the use of releasing the next version….Same is the way for this one…..
    for eg. Windows 2000 is not the same as Windows XP, but still people do use it….

    No doubt there are enhancements on the latest versions. But you have to purchase them ( for 1 year valid licence! ).

    To answer some of the questions above.
    I mentioned that I run AWC v2 Pro, the reason I have not upgraded is because:
    1) I think ASC is too ready to try to take control of your PC.
    2) I do not think that there is anything in ASC that makes it a better program.
    All optimising programs have their own ideas about what is best, it has taken me a couple of years to get my PC running the way I want it, doing it a bit at a time manually with tips picked up from various places.
    If you have been using a program to set things up automatically the problem comes if you move to another program because it will invariably try to change, at least some of, your settings as different developers have different ideas about what is best and that is a choice you need to make for yourself.

    Hi everybody ,
    one more time , these finds are top softwares , although in this categories the choice is very large and there’s a lot af good softwares likes CCleaner and tuneup for AWC class and Macrium or Paragon for the one of Titan backup.
    I think the average user like me just need and must have one of each to avoid possible conflicts or registry issues.
    those days i have’nt much time to spend on the web but i hope the french community of 4 free is growing each day more on this trademark (congratulations ;-) ) wonderful website and we all hope forum …

    May be a stupid question… but how do i signup on brothersoft.com?
    I can´t find a register form.
    There´s only one for authors that want to sell their software there.

    Hi Fred ! Is this a joke ?
    Normally by accesing the “Sign Up” ( main page Brothersoft.com, right upper side ) you’ll arrive on a “New member sign up” Page.
    Choose the “user column” and hit “Sign Up”. That will lead you to this “Free registration to Brothersoft.com” Page
    http://www.brothersoft.com/user/?act=member.reg&re_check=user
    Wish you good luck !

    Well… there´s nothing on the right upper side when i visit brothersoft.com. Maybe they block some IP ranges from registering. Oo
    But your link works well.
    Thanks!

    Hi Fred! Have you tried through a proxy - if the Sign Up is visible ?

    Re:Fred’s problem.
    I had a similar problem.I am using a Spanish IP,but I have found a way to work around it.Simply register using the link in the update above.Once registered,look for the help link at the bottom of that same page.It will take you to the help page which will include a login link.Click,log in and then you should see the page containing the ‘free software.’ Hope this helps.
