4 Free’s genuine find was that any French users (Swiss or Belgians too ) can get most of the softwares on the TrialPay’s list by simply registering for free to Meetic - the bigest european dating website.
NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED !
But what can you do if you are french guy living abroad, for example ?! 
“Use a french proxy” - we have previously said. And it worked for just a few days, before “they” have apparently changed the registration script ( not allowing proxies anymore ).
Well … A few days ago we have noticed a thread in Raymond’s Freebies forum about UltraVPN - a french VPN FREE Service ( obviously providing a french IP to his users ! ). ( Raymond wrote this post)
The nice thing is that we have also imediately received two emails from our older friends Petri and Dave ( with whom we have discussed this Trialpay-Meetic issue in Nov/Dec 2008 ! )

So go and register for a free account on UltraVPN site. Then download and install it from the same page.
We have tried this UltraVPN - TrialPay - Meetic solution and it is working! .. BUT checking it the last 3 days we have noticed these problems:
- UltraVPN does not always work at first installation. On the contrary it is almost “normal” to uninstall and reinstall it, in order to get it to work.( as explained in the FAQ page )
- So be sure you close any other application while installing it.
- as most VPN tunnels UltraVPN is seen by all security solutions as a virus/trojan. So be sure it is not blocked by them.
- it is also possible ( it happened while trying it ) that UltraVPN will never work on one’s computer due to the incompatibility with the security softwares or other already installed softwares.
- it can work in a very discontinous manner, even if it worked well at the beginning. It must be also a bandwidth capacity problem ( how much can thet supply for free? )
WHAT ARE THE “DELICATE” PROBLEMS:
- UltraVPN only supplies a few ( same ) french IPs to all his users. So if too many persons will start using the same IPs for getting Trialpay softwares through Meetic … Maybe it will be too obvious.
- As said above We doubt anyway the bandwidth capacity. How many users can UltraVPN support in the same time ( dozens ? hundreds ? thousands ? ). Obviously this depends also on their internet activity.
- If this tip will become too popular “they” will certainly notice the increase demand for softwares through Meetic … And “do something”.
Now that you have been warned let’s see how A FRENCH CITIZEN LIVING ABROAD can get those softwares for free ?!
0. Go and register for a free account on UltraVPN. Download the installer from the same page.
1. After installing AND ACTIVATING UltraVPN, access TrialPay’s Shoppers Page. By clicking “Get a free licence” for a specific software you will be able to see Meetic on the right upper side of the page.( see screenshots )
2. Click on “Complete this offer” in the Meetic dedicated widget.
3. You will arrive on another TrialPay Page - in english if your browser is in english - where your “Contact information Is Required“. write down your first and last names PLUS the email address… And hit “Continue“
You’ll read this message: “Complete this offer. Once your offer completion is confirmed, your order will be sent to: your email. Hit “Complete this offer“.
4. You will arrive on a Meetic Registration Page ( in french of course ). Please fill it ( see screenshot )
5. You will receive an email for confirming the Meetic registration. Just click on the confirmation link ( see screenshot and ONCE ARRIVED ON MEETIC CLIcK ON “ACTIVER VOTRE COMPTE” ( see screenshot )
6. That’s it! Beside a second email message from meetic ( with girls or boys ready to meet you;-) ) you will also receive an email from TrialPay saying that you’ll normally receive all your licence key and the download link after 1 day.
.. And you will get it! ( YOU DON’T NEED TO ACCESS YOUR EMAIL THROUGH UltraVPN anymore when you get your licence key and download your software )
VERY Important notes :
1. You can see different softwares on TrialPay when you come with different french IPs ( just check what IP you have every time you connect UltraVPN )
2. NOT ALL SOFTWARES ON TrialPay ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH MEETIC. ( MediaMonkey is not available, for example ). We have only find the 10 items from our list, but new softwares will certainly appear in the future.
3. Apparently YOU CANNOT ASK for more than one free software trough Meetic WHILE HAVING THE SAME IP. ( disconnect and reconect Ultra VPN ). Don’t forget to also clean your private datas in your browser ( from Options )

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the ones that jump out I have already gotten. I have gotten roboforn and outpost pro free on trial pay by signing up for e-music and rhapsody trials. The only catch was you have to have a credit card but with e-music you get the free 25 mp3s,the key for whatever software, so cancel before the trials up and no charges to the credit card. While these are technically “free,” most of them have one-year licences. I classify this as “bait and hook” (as opposed to bait and switch). Once you swallow the bait by accepting the “free” program, you then learn the intricacies of using the program. By the end of the year, you’re hooked: the thought of having to learn the details of another program seem too onerous, and you succumb to paying the annual fee from then on.

Yes it’s true! TrialPay is waiting for the confirmation from Meetic ( that you have registered on their site )
This seems promising, however, ultaVpn does not appear to work in Vista 64. All of the drivers that it wants to install are all 32 bit, and the client software can not seem to connect to the host,
I have checked the firewall (KIS 2009) and it is not blocking it.

About UltraVPN: I have used it since a long time and I can be used with avast!, Avira, Zemana, Outpost Firewall, Vista Firewall Control, Malwarebyts. I have used it on Vista and 7 (RC 7100). Never faced any bandwidth problem.
Some time it does not work but normally after restart of PC, it works.

Ok this is what i have found, the offer is still running. The problem seems to be that the offers are in a cycle so sometimes meetic is there with the software you want and sometimes not. If you persevere, use different browsers open different tabs then eventually you will get the software you want. Although i didn’t want i have 4 softwares with the meetic icon as we stand

Unable to get UltraVPN to install properly. It says something like “TAP-Win32″ driver failed to install. This may be some security issue. Are there any workarounds to this?

these are not (softwares) of my choice. so no bad
if i lose it. anyhow i would try for corel products. but now its
not working here, i mean i am not able to see meetic
(i have tried all u have said). hope i get it back.
one hint- ESET blocks UltraVPN, so when its asks for allow or block
simply leave it aside(just drag it to the corner). then it works fine.

Tried for a very long time, but UltraVPN would not connect, and 2 times it did, couldnt get the meetic thing to come on the page. Maybe conflicts with security stuff I have running. Oh well, bad luck to me

I think I’ll go for the ‘Uniblue Registry Booster 2009′. Anyway I figured I could list some free alternatives (for those who are interested or do not want to use trialpay (or meetic))
1. An alternative for WinZip 12 Standard is IZArc (7-zip is also an alternative, but I never liked 7-zip *blush*)
3. PCTools Spyware Doctor, as an alternative I use spybot search and destroy and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. Others are superantispyware and ad-aware free edition
5. AVG Anti-Virus 8. A free alternative is avast home edition (there is also avg free edition, but I think avast home edition does a much better job).
6. ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, free alternative is commodo firewall (great firewall, but stay away from their virusscanner because it’s detection is very bad)
10. Mcafee VirusScan Plus. An alternative is avast home edition.

Wasted 2 hours with this, could not get the Meetic option at all, no matter how often i refreshed and or restarted the browser. The UltraVpn worked fine and i was getting proxied ip addresses and i was getting French offers, but no Meetic. Maybe next time.

But I am not able to use Ultra VPN
Installation took place in just one attempt.
Now I am able to connect with Ulta VPN but
whwnever I am connecting it my browsing gets disabled.
And again I have to go for a restart for browsing back.
I have tried with Mozila firefox and Internet Explorer.
I have never used a vpn earlier.
Any changes in settings are required.

I want to comment on an aspect of for-free-on-internet.com which I think is not too good.
Somehow, when I try to send a comment, it gets caught on the WP spam. And now, when I sent a comment on how to enhance your Corel Paintshop software, it gets deleted after being in the moderation queue - with not even an acknowledgement of yes/no, this may or may not be the appropriate place to post it, or the software enhancement is not good enough.
I actually have a couple of other suggestions ie another workaround to get a different French IP - which works , and another way of getting the Trialpay softwares at nominal cost, but it does not seem to be alright to post it .

I read the original article on the TrialPay tricks but didn’t want to go through the trouble with proxies and we never get a credit card-free offer here in the US >_>. Well this time I gave it a go, several actually. I had UltraVPN installed already and it works good with my current configuration so it wasn’t much of a problem. My speed was generally nice and steady though there were some hiccups here and there.
The first problem I ran into was one of my own fault. I had forgot to reset my custom hosts file which blocks ads and referrels so I had to retry after I realized a ppp/ad server was used to connect the offers. Well all said and done I gave it another try. This time it went through and I successfully made it to the registration page for Meetic. My French has rusted quite a bit so I had to take a peek at the screenshot provided by 4 Free. Everything was fine other than the district code (I entered 1-9 literally). With Google’s help I managed to grab a legit district code that was accepted.
I clicked the activation link in the Meetic email and filled in my profile more or less. So now it’s just a waiting game… I am waiting patiently, so I hope that it goes though successfully. I’ll be sure to let 4 Free know how it goes in a day or so.
Free reg code or not, it’s always a pleasure seeing what you guys come up with. Thanks.

My apologies for the hasty conclusion. But I want to point out that the SPAM filter eats up a lot of the comments and when I tried to post other ways of getting the IP, I got upset when I found both the new comment and the old comment (the Autofx plugin) missing.

I also want to note that the current country that I am resident in (Asian country) has an offer that can be completed for <US$4, with no credit card details required, though you would need a mobile phone line, as the amount gets charged to the phonebill.
Alternatively, I found that using Hotspot Shield (US VPN service) gives lots of free offers to complete. For a US resident, the credit report 7-day free trials are quite a good deal, because it is useful to check your credit score every now and then, and it is quite safe to hand out credit card details to these subsidiaries of credit reporting bureaus. Besides, you get confirmed by TrialPay and get your software instantaneously.

Not wanting to go with VPN thing & the fact that Trial Pay can disable your free program if you cancel a trial offer, (at least thats what I read on many offers), this is a no go for me. I could not find any real “free offers” in Trial Pay (in USA). While some are low cost, this still is not technically free.

Hmmm…, did you try this on Vista? UltraVPN told me on install that something wasn’t compatible with XP. I continued anyway. Anyways, I saw and completed Meetic last night right after you posted it. (Good thing I was checking Raymond’s forum!) Now, I can’t see it. Still no email.

Nice to hear that there are many people and most of whom got some softwares of Meetic offer. Some words about problems. This is what I saw and solved later. At first UltraVPN. After installation it worked good (I have Vista), but a little bit later worked…not so good. First I checked firewall settings. All these fixs solved my problems with UltraVPN, but how these can help you, I am not sure. The least you can do is try this same. Only I hope, if these tips not work for you, please, don’t blame me. I have experience with Zone Alarm and Online Armor.
Zone Alarm: When you start UltraVPN, there is always Zone Alarm pop-up window also. Check the lowest box “Trusted zone” and then write new name to the larger network box (lowest of all), for example: “Secure Network”. Then “Save” or “Ok” (I can not remember letterly, I have Online Armor in use now). After this work MY UltraVPN worked without any problems, when Zone Alarm was installed. Remember, you must do this work any time you want to use UltraVPN and you have Zone Alarm installed. Online Armor: There was also very many questions and UltraVPN not worked good. Not important what I have done, UltraVPN not worked properly. But then…right click Online Armor icon, if you have “Standard Mode”, change it to “Advanced Mode” and still, very important, check “Learning mode” also. I have these settings and no more problems contact with UltraVPN anytime I want. Also, if you have green light and it seems, that UltraVPN work properly, please, check your IP still once before contact. I had also this kind of problem. All seems good, but IP was my original. As I said some months ago, in my opinion, auditmypc.com is still best tool for it.
Very important. Write here your confirmations and we all want know how these tips works for you. As far as I know Meeting “offer” is “expired” again. Nothing bad! You have now time for UltraVPN and if “offer” still start again, you are ready. Honestly I want say there are many softwares you can pick from Meetic-site (if not just now, but maybe later), BUT NOTHING LIKE THAT YOU CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT! For example, keep in mind, what you can download and what you have already downloaded from 4Free Team site. And all happen without any mess! It’s great!

I don’t quite agree with the idea that there are no important ofeers on TrialPay-Meetic. We were able to grabb ( before publishing the post ) Roboform Pro and MediaMonkey Gold, for example.

I didn’t take profit of this HF so I won’t discuss about how it works or not to get the key. Anyway, there are many software-related things to say.
1/ This kind of “offers” is not exactly the same as the giveaways we usually stumble upon over the web - and especially here on 4 free.
In this current case, it was not a program editor seeking for web buzz.
Although the operation here described is perfectly legit (of course), it is not fully fair. Therefore, it was clearly obvious it wouldn’t last very long!
I have nothing else o say against this kind of “promo” that I hope that 4free will stay focused on real giveaways and that these tricky free plans will remain occasional. Indeed, when a free reg form is buzzing, we win (we get the soft for free) and its editor also wins (that’s the very basis of this marketing strategy).
In a case such as current, we win. Period. Nothing against it, but it can’t clearly develop as many program editors won’t make their proucts trialpayable any longer… Or meetic will stop advertise through trialpay…
Ok, that was the first point.
2/ The second is… how the hell some program editors can imagine one will pay for a ONE YEAR license? Are they crackpot?
When it a program that needs regular updates, sure, the subscription is good license modality.
But Winzip? Foxit PDF? They say : one year of upgrades free of charge; I agree. They say : one year of usability; I steer clear of these products, even for free…
How can they justify to sell products that will stop working after one year, So to say, they are selling extended trials. Not to me.
Even for free, I wouldn’t like to rely on a product I will have to pay and pay again for it.
Basically there are three situations.
a- a program that need regular (maybe daily) updates, subscription is perfectly OK.
b- an online service, which I can use from any computer in the world, subscription is OK. Guess I can Winzip files and folders over the web or Foxit PDFs through Internet, I pay a subscription. So subscription for SaS (software as a Service), why not?
c- a program, that needs to be locally executed and need no specific updates, it’s a lifetime license or it’s a kind of racket.
I have nothing against paying for software and struggling against piracy. But some editors should show to their customers and potential customers the minimal decency of not seeing them as wallets and credit cards brought to life.

Just my thoughts ( I might be wrong ) :
1. The Trialpay - Meetic offer is (was ) available from a long period for all frech IPs ( and not only ). The web buzz is also giving a great advertising to Meetic. ( not only to Trialpay or the software developers ) … And I’m talking mainly about the French-speaking market ( but not only, again ) ;
They have simply disabled the offer for the moment. But the buzz is clearly free advertising for them.
2. Where have you seen “1 Year of usability” ?
“1 year licence” generally means free updates and tech support ( again if I’m not wrong, and I don’t think I am ). The software won’t stop working after 1 year.
3. Of course 4 Free has more important plans ( than talking about tricks )
But maybe sometimes we must remember Radu’s title ( planete Bérangèr ) “They trick us … We trick them”
At least from time to time all those marketing strategies must bring something to the users too.

for the ones that are afraid that trailpay can cancel an offer, if the key is received and soft installed, I think there’s nothing else they can do about. If not installed, maybe they could check during installation, but probably this would be very unprobable.

Meetic is not a trial. You open your free account and that’s it!
1/ Let’s say you’re right regarding Meetic. Using a French IP daily (!!!) I’ll chack later when the buzz will be over.
2/ I don’t know : when I buy a license I buy the right to use the software. Correct.
The license is not the serial number. SN is a kind of a key, but what I buy (or get for free) is not the key ; of course I buy (or get for free) the right to use the software. So to say, I receive a license (which is materialized by a serial number).
When I read “1 year license”, what else could I understand?
If editors mean “1 year of courtesy upgrade and maintenance”, that’s very nice, but it’s not about licensing. It about commercial policy.
If “1 year license” = “1 year of courtesy upgrade” that would means that a “1 year license” is a more extended license than a “full license”… Hum, don’t you think that sound weird ?
Practically, I guess you grabbed winzip or foxit through this trial pay trick so you can check what’s said in the about box.
The sole exception I made to this no time limited licenses was Returnil when it was available at gotd. There is no legitimate reason for the publisher to ask yearly for money. He should ask his price, and that’s it. That’s what I think.
Anyway, I grabbed the GOTD license, and the about box says that the “1 year license” will stop working in early january 2010.
I thought it was all about maintenance… but if I set the date to february 2010 for example, Returnil can no longer be turned on… So uninstall it or pay again for it…
I truly dislike this commercial policy.

Well yeah, I used the same email, just not the same username. Still no key. I think I must have had a typo in my email address typing. And when I install UltraVPN again, it seems to stomp out my internet connection.

It was explained on our previous articles on TrialPay ( the support procedure ) … But we did not insist now because everybody would have done it and it would have been too obvious.
Just want to let you know that the UltraVPN IP has been blocked - at least I can’t seem to get through to the TrialPay server when on UltraVPN. But as I mentioned before, there are other ways to get other IPs. You may want to check out the US, UK and India IPs, there are a lot more ways to complete TrialPay offers there. According to discussions on Donation Coder, some of these offers don’t require credit card details.

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that I looked for a few hours but never got the Meetic promotion on Trialpay, but I really wanted the Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo software (great photo program, by the way, second only to Photoshop in my opinion!) so I gave up and went to my local Trialpay site (UK) and picked out the Blockbuster DVD rental service. I now have had several DVDs, 2 coupons for in-store rentals, and Paint Shop Pro! All for free! Blockbuster’s isn’t a bad deal really (£15.99 per month for unlimited rentals delivered to your door, 2 discs at a time, plus 2 coupons for in-store rentals) but I found myself struggling to find 10 films to add to my list (part of the offer requirements) so I’ll probably cancel when my trial is over. But still, that means I’ll have gotten to see a few new films, and gotten some great software for free! So don’t give up on Trialpay, give it a try and see if there isn’t something you’ll like!
