   Well its nice to see the next HF, but it would be
   better if you give a hint here too. That would make it
   meaningful to write a comment here.

   Sometimes we cannot give hints. The public promotions are there for everyone.
   You know we have a bad experience with one or two “friends”.
   Once revealed on other site … We’re not able anymore to assure first hand access to our readers.
   It would be a shame!
   Just look at how many of the last HFs lasted just a few hours, before being blocked by the owners.
   I know you understand ( and - like always - I’m using your comment to pass a general message )

    It’s like a captcha filter but you dont write down anything.

    May I ask a rather naive question, but why getting rid of HF before publishing 4FS (4 free specials) ?
    Actually, I can understand 4FS will be the occasion to launch the new script, so it’s better to wait everything is OK and to finish with the “old” HF procedure…
    (By the way I can hardly imagine what the new script era will look like. You only told us that the friend comment/user reply system will be over, and I find it sad… One of the main reason I post here regularly is that you take time to answer to everyone. Even when you XXX something, you explain. Not the case everywhere… you have problem with crooks, I have problem with rude site owners and moderators).

    So here is my point: when we’ll move ahead to the new script and 4FS, won’t you publish anymore any new HF?
    Will you stop searching for HF? Should friends stop telling you what they find?
    I guess not. So? Why getting riding of those, when more will come even after the first 4FS release?

    Sorry for bugging you with all these remarks regarding your site and your project, but - as many already stated - there is not much to comment when there is no other information in the article than “check you mail”! So I took opportunity of this “free” comment space…

    Regarding the missing hint : this time we were not sure if we were able to finish a certain article ( and we were NOT ) … And we’ve had multiple B plans.
    The new script is “automatically” indeed and will only allow technical feedbacks.
    … But we’ll keep in touch with our friends on this old 4 Free ( hopefully improved ) - where we’ll keep publish the most important finds, like we do now.
    But we “get rid of actual HFs” … just because there are too many and they’re getting old.

    Beside the + 200 qualified members there are + 20 000 regular 4 Free readers ( silent ones ). We give them too the chance to see the HF announcement before the release.

    But we won’t develope the subject anymore. We hope you’re here for the software so let’s talk about the software.
    I trust you’re mature enough to make the difference between site owners who are really and honestly working to bring genuine information … And copy-cats thinking they are smart if using somebody elses work. ( crooks in one word )

    Many of us may have confused (me too) your “The qualified members will have more hints in the HF mail.” with something like “look at your email and will have some better hints NOW”. From this a lot of message (like mine) about missing HF mail notification!

    I think you should make adjustments to the functioning of your web site. Yesterday I submitted a comment which addressed your discussion of the points method for Hot Finds announcement distribution, the importance of active participation for the proper functioning of democratic institutions, and a list of the software that I would like to see available on 4 Free.

    But when I submitted my comments, your site displayed a page that junked my comments on the claim that they were spam. That was wrong and rude. If you want more participation, you should be more careful about dissing contributor’s comments. Please check my submission; you will see that there was no spam in it. I don’t know what I did wrong (was it the inclusion of the home pages of the software applications in my wish list?), but if you will post what characteristics you evaluate as spam, I will be sure to avoid them in the future.

    Anyway, here is a shortened list of the software I hope to find on your pages:

    4 Free is ( will be ) more a meritocracy than a democracy.
    The Spam guard is simply doing his job, if you take into consideration the huge amount os spams.
    It looks that it allowed this comment so you’re not a spammer.
    We would have prefered to see you’re respecting our rules: we have only asked for three software giveaway wishes and they must be written here:

    Of course all our members have more than three software wishes, but we’re trying to focus our survey on the most wanted ones.

    Is this the new script? if so then I though I was loosing (very much) 4Free style here… With no moderator this might be the “not too welcomed” step you ever made (after a year you had spoiled us with your kind attention) but I fully understand your decision here in all of the aspect.
    Well guys… A work has to be done and a step has to be made but… haha! There is always but with dots everywhere…!
