It’s true ! We have tried the so popular code and it did not work for us either.
BUT - by some bizarre reasons - if you add a quotation mark at the end of the promotion code … It will work by miracle !
You can take the code and all registration instructions from Raymond.cc
Don’t forget to add a quotation mark right after the last letter of the code. It just worked for us .

Yes it is a very good software but I will pass on this one…
I just have a modem 56k connection and the updates for this software are habitually very huge : it somtimes takes to me about three hours just to download the updates…
I just can’t afford this…
I am using Malwarebytes’ Antimalware, which I bought; the lifetime licence of this software costs less than a year licence of a-squared Antimalware…
Finally, be careful with the scan results of a-squared : this software is known for its many false positives…

I am personally using a-Squared and I’m very happy with it.
The updates are frequent indeed, but I not at all huge … Rather normal. After all it’s good to have a always-updated anti-malware database.
And I have never had that “too many fals positives” problem.
I’m curious about Malwarebytes’ Antimalware. Don’t see it in the test from The Malware Research Group , but it has a very good review on TopTenReviews.

It works!!! And so far it seems like a great program. Also, on top of the test you included above which is solely about on-demand scanning, a-squared also fared really well in two other MRG tests. The first is a real-time protection test and the second is a rouge software test. This is a really good find 4 free. I have been long time user of Avast AV home, don’t like anything else, but I occasionally use the stand alone free scanner from a-squared as a second opinion, and it does the job fine. Security wise, I have been using Avast along with a good firewall, Sandboxie and Threatfire, for the last six months, and they protect my system just fine. Also if you stay away from dodgy websites, dIsable Autoplay for USB drives, and do not click on suspicious files from anyone, you are well protected. Thanks and cheers, 4 free.

Avast is good but Avira AntiVir ( free ) beats in, imho. I have changed two years ago from Avast to Antivir and I know what you’re saying. Have you ever tried it?

I had this s/w from raymond blog but due to its high resources hogging s/w I had uninstall it as it lower my old pc machines performances.. its really good as it protect in real time .. now i only install the free version which is not hogging my pc resourses.. its reallly true when the s/w is updating and d/ l its signatures , its stop all other processes.. just my experience with my pc

It certainly depends on your computer parameters ( the resources hogging ). I have it on my older laptop, a Compaq Presario A 900, having decent parameters ( but not exceptional )… And I don’t feel it when updating his signatures.
But I can see it can be resources hog on older machines.

Sorry to hear that. It worked for almost everybody.
The tweak re: quotation marks, worked. (the double quotation marks ” , btw) Upgraded and installed with no problems on Vista 64 bit. I was using the free version previously. I uninstalled it before I installed the Full version to avoid irritating Vista’s 64 bit confusion-factor. Glad to find the full version on this site tonight, as the free version was very good. User friendly: option to do a quick scan and set options later for deeper scan. A few false positives notwithstanding, I like that it errs on the side of caution and gives one the option to restore from quarantine, if you decide you wanna mess with a program anyways.
I passed on the previous photo programs until StudioLine Photo Classic appear. Seemed to be what I was looking for (no huge learning curve required) and it too, installed easily. It has ‘walk throughs’, which are easy to follow.

Afterthought: Your questions re: Malwarebytes. I’ve used it for over a year and it kicks butt. Saved me from a dreaded (r-e-i-n-s-t-a-l-l) when it nailed a nasty that would not say Uncle to anything else.
It has a reputation of trustworthiness around the net. As does A2. No conflicts between the two, nor my antivi. Both programs provide very frequent updates, which suggests to me that they are staying abreast, if not ‘on top’ of latest threats.

Thanks, but I’ll pass this one. I have avast (home edition, scans for virus, rootkits, spyware) and spybot, ad-aware, spyware terminator and Malwarebytes’ Antimalware.
And everything I download (and everything that friends send to me) go trough virustotal and “comodo instant malware analysis” (on: http://camas.comodo.com/cgi-bin/submit )
Comodo instant malware analysis will upload the file and after a minute or so it will report what the uploaded file did after it was executed (it will report all files it created/changed/deleted, registry keys/values)

Thank you for sharing such a ‘clever’ hint to get a license for a-squared Anti-Malware. In the morning, I could proceed until logging to the Emsi website. Though I received an e-mail with an account, when I enter my user credentials, I get the following error message since the morning (it has been 9 hours already):
“Service is currently not available. Please try again later. ” Has anyone else faced this problem?

OK…it’s working ( the trick )….but if you already have registered the product with the same code is not working..you need a new account and it’s OK .
) . If you submit the ,,infected,, file the producer resolve the problem and also give you an answer ( if you request ) .
Good program….. memory usage…between 30 and 100 mb ( when scanning ).
No conflict with KIS 8 and Spy Sweeper .
The sites blocked by Firefox are blocked also by a-squared ( and moore ) .
False positives….tell me a security program without (

Hi Guys.I passed on this as I am using ESET coupled with Malwarebytes as an on demand scanner. I also use returnil virtual system when testing software.Despite the promising reviews for A2,I am currently happy with my set up and do not wish to change it.

Hi guys.Did everything that was mentioned got key and so on. But, as I had a previous installation ( removed with Revo when subscription ended), it did not consider current account setup done in another e-mail. It just used my previous installation data and extended the subscription one year from the end of previous subscription.

Funny , I have tried to simply upgrade/update my oldest version too, by using the promotion code, but for some reasons it didn’t work.
I too had to uninstall and reinstall V4.5 .

Please have a look into the Configuration for the Malware IDS and the Surf Protection. All the Buttons there should be grey and nothing can be changed.

Hooray! I finally managed to log on to the website to have a license. After that a space and a quotation character worked to get a one-year license.
It is strange that I could connect to the website from my mobile phone but not from my laptop. I have a linux-based firewall (shorewall) which might have blocked my computer. Using my small nokia phone, opera mini browser and GPRS, I could log on to the site and got my license! I hope I will not have the same problem during the installation.

Hi folks, i was lucky enough to get mamutu for myself today so i will install a-squared and mamutu together.
I’ll just disable my existing security to see how things go and then after i have become comfortable with the new software it will go bye-byes LOL
