Thanks, but I’ll just keep using avast 4.8. I’m using the free home edition and I’m happy with it. As a firewall Comodo has a great free version. Never had problems with these 2 combined…
Tell me if im wrong but it isnt up for me.

Yeah…looks like great AV software, but I’m going to stick with Avast just because it’ll be easier, and I won’t have to deal with the license expiry.

Please observe that this promotion might be only available for USA. It seems anyone can download it but not sure will receive the keys. So if one really needs this, and is NOT from US, download it, apply for key and wish strong to get it in a 1 to 3 days time period.

Kaspersky site is up and running in US.
But you need to enter a valid email address from a Launch Party “host” in order to register/download the software.

Hi got my kaspersky key from the promo. I did not host a win 7 party. (was denied).
But they allow one licence key to anyone who applied-and was not accepted.

Using somebody elses email can be easily called a FRAUD.

I don’t know how well Panda rates as an anti-virus, but don’t trust it as your firewall (one of its claimed features).
In the famous Matousec firewall test, it failed with a miserable 4% success rate: http://www.matousec.com/projects/proactive-security-challenge/results.php.
Free firewalls such as Comodo and Online Armor are far superior.

Got the license just now and finally installed it. A good thing is that it gives you the option to scan your computer prior to installation. Bad thing is the installer comes with signature of 9th October although I have downloaded it on 22nd October. I settle for a custom installation without firewall and anti-spam. The program is extremely light on resources, chewing just 17-18MB with its various processes!!! In comparison both AVG9 & a-squared Anti-Malware consumes some 30MB RAM. Very Nice.
It has been activated and registered so the license will end on 24-10-2010. By the way I am from India. So no USA specific thing there.
So far it is happily residing with both my above-mentioned security software plus Comodo IS (firewall only). But if this performs well then I think the axe may fall on AVG9. I really hate its whitish theme and childish icons. Anyway, nice find this is.

Downloaded without difficulty … activation code followed within 36 hours and worked just fine even though I’m in Canada … am currently using this software on a computer that used to have Norton 2009 Internet Suite (just expired) … so far it seems to be doing the job though the initial malware scan produced a couple of false positives … however other programs have often had more false positives so this doesn’t seem too bad … email scan seems to work OK … my only concern is firewall peformance … but in their most recent roundup of 12 internet security suites, PC Magazine found no major problems with it, so I’m going to let it ride for at least a month … will make a final keep/delete decision then … thanks again gentlemen for keeping us all in the loop about major promotions like this one.
Well today I tried the Kaspersky site again, it worked… hooray! Free internet security 2010.
I wasn’t a guest at a windows 7 party but had been denied as a host ( mainly because I decided it was too much work for the reward) but according to the site, rejected hosts can receive one license. Downloaded, installed, entered the key that was emailed to me immediately and…. Shazaam… I am now protected.

The Panda site noted that we would receive the code in 1-3 days. After one week I still hadn’t received mine. I called Panda support to verify that they had received my registration. They confirmed my registration and told me that because of the huge response it may take up to three weeks or more before everyone gets the code.
If I don’t receive it soon I’ll call them back and post the results.
