Update from Pavid ( thank you ! ) - regarding the W7 compatibility
Hi Guys,
Like many other people, I too had a problem with the installer as mentioned above. I cured it by right-clicking on the installer then selecting “Properties”. Next click the “Compatibility” tab then select “Vista Service Pack 2″ after you check-mark the Compatibility box and then check-mark “Run as Administrator” at the bottom. Click the “Apply” button then rerun the installer. When the installer is finished start the program and voila, away you go. I’m using a 32 bit version of Windows 7 so I can’t be sure this fix works on 64 bit Windows 7. People should also note this Vista SP2 compatibility only applies to the installer. The program runs fine without making any compatibility changes.
@George - You do not have to uninstall your prior version. Each seems to run fine while the other is present.

How to grab Ashampoo WinOptimizer 20010 Advanced, for free ?

1. Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2010 Registration Page ( among others if you change the page ID )
Just fill in your email address and click “Send”.

2. If you already have your own Ashampoo account you can go directy there, and find your license serial in “Freebies Registration Keys”. If NOT … You’ll be invited to first register to Ashampoo.
Like usual you will receive a first email message with a link to access your personal Ashampoo account. The serial will also arrive in a second message from Ashampoo.
3. Download the installer ( 8,89 Mo ) - ashampoo_winoptimizer_2010_6.50_6225.exe - by pasting the exact file name INSTEAD of “here” :

That’s it ! Run the installer and install it in a normal manner. It will only take 29,68 Mo space on your HD.
Note : if you already own a license key ( from the Registration in step 1 ) you should normally untick the “ask for a free license” case when you’reb asked during installation ( see screenshot below ). It only opens your browser to the same registration page.
After installation , when you run the app for the first time you will be able to register by selecting “Enter Key” in the Welcome Window ( see screenshot below ). Then paste the serial and … That’s it !

Anyway, I’ll pass on this one…
odd…. I got an error message that says “This program cannot be installed on Windows NT version 6.01.7600 or later” when I tried to install it. I’m still running Windows 7 RC build 7100. However, I didn’t get any errors when I tried 2009 Andvanced version.

Have you contacted the Ashampoo-support ?
I didn’t say you don’t have to register at all.
I mean that everyone who went through the registration for Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2010 (not for 2009) during HF 37 and goes through it during HF 39, will end up with the same key, although the registration links are different.
I did it & now I have the same key twice in my Ashampoo account.

You can contact Ashampoo because they say it is W7 compatible.

Nice program. I am a little confused. I currently have version 6.5 installed. BUT it is called WinOptimizer6. Nothing shows “2010″ or even “2009″. The only differences I can see, from the screenshots, is that I have one extra option in two of the modules. ??? Anyone know the difference?

v6 will probably be more complete than 2010. Historically the “year versions” generally have quite a number of tools poached off compared to the “number versions”. I have all the versions of Ashampoo WinOptimizer starting from v1 when they used to packaged it as WinOptimizer Platinum Suite, plus 2007 to 2009 version (plus this) so that’s the trend I have seen.
And oh, the startup screen has a link to upgrade to v6, so…
Compared to version 5.13 I observe the following:-
1. Optimize performance has an extra module - Internet Tuner which was previously under Tune System Settings.
2. Privacy & Security doesn’t have - Undeleter, Tweaking & IP Spam Blocker.
3. Tune System Settings doesn’t have Visual Styler
In 2010 edition you can now schedule tasks.

The installer was in a different language (probably German) although it installs the English version. Even the one-click optimization icon on the desktop has a name “Ein-Klick-Optimierung”. Pretty funny

I have personally installed it in English ( like all the others, I assume ) !

Good software. I have always like Ashampoo software.
I have used earlier versions (on my xp pc) of the without and problem.
Intalled, activated and runs greate on my (windows 7 intallation).
This is fast and reponsive. Just like all Ashampoo products, does what it says and does it well.

Registration/download/installation all easy and straight forward, however:
disappointing that this 2010 version (although version 6.50), does NOT contain the “Anti-Spy module”, “Context menu manager” and “File undeleter”.
Also missing compared to the full WinOptimizer 6 are the “red” and “carbon” themed skins, and the “Visual Styler”.

I bought WinOptimizer 6 for $9.99 a month ago and thought it was well worth the money.
Ashampoo products are pretty darn good. I will always download and install their products because even if they are not the cutting edge product they are still some of the best out there.
I’ll still buy some of their software because I have so much of it I downloaded for free and I’d hate it if they didn’t stay in business.

good to see the download was found in the end as i have windows 7 x64 it will not install getting the windows NT error, but it will install in compatibility mode or winoptimizer6 will run on windows 7 x64 np hope this help some people

In the corner of my computer-room are standing two computers, laughing at me. They were both destroyed by registry cleaners! WinOptimizer is okay, in general, (I have version 4, 5, and 6), but I wouldn’t dare to run the “1-click” cleaner, without first making a FULL backup!

Ashampoo is the official Reseller of these products.. they are not theirs. they buy them from poor developers and sell them in low prices although some buy the products in a very high price sometimes (especially if you buy them the first days they release them..) they get so much that give almost 50% to their affiliates.. so don;t be afraid.. they will never stay out of business

Using Pavid’s trick I was able to get the program to install in Win 7 X64 with no problems!, Thanks Pavid (I should’ve know this trick!)
(you asked, so here I am merely answering): The two ruined PCs are from old days when I was too naive/trustful and with too little self-discipline/patience, to perform backups
, and I never paid to get the system on a disc! It would be easy to get them patched, (Win2000Pro and XP Home) in English, but apparently not in Danish.

Hello, thank you for this version. I have an older version, I also have a number of their products. I like the Office 2008 from them.
Great company that cuts prices 70% or more.
The Office 2008 was $69.00, It only cost $4.99, I found out if i wait for the right e-mail from them the prices keep getting lower. they do though send a lot of letters to me.
Do not jump at the first discount price they offer you, they do not date most of the price cuts so you can compare and pick the cheaper on.
I love the office much faster then Open Office, smaller with less modules, but does the work great.

Hi !
I normally use “Glary Utilities” for my cleaning duties!
So I did a little test by running Glary’s 1-Click Maintenance then running Ashampoo’s One-Click-Optimizer to see if it picked up leftovers.
Well, on this count, I got good news AND bad news!
Yes it found more than Glary but it also did not ask permission before deleting and got rid of my cookies, a behavior I curbed in Glary.
Because contrary to Ashampoo, Glary’s 1-Click shows you (and lets you choose) options on the front page BEFORE doing anything.
Ashampoo’s one-click options are more like in the back somewhere.
Aside from that medium-minor annoyance, this software is good at what it does and offers modules not found in Glary.
But like with every other cleaner application (Glary, Ccleaner and others), you need to be careful at setting the depth of its actions because you MIGHT wipe away stuff you really need.
