We were saying this article is unusual because we were only having the registration pages , but no download links for the three found promotions ( the serials were not working with different versions we have tried ).
The last two days, while searching for DLs, we have contacted the developers of the software from the third promotion and they have explained us that those license keys are no longer accepted anyway.

The http://de.acdsee.com/covermount/pcpraxis/84376 Link isnt good anymore, after entering the Email Adresse it says that all Serial Codes are gone. I read somewhere that the Promotion was only offered to the first 10.000 so that might be why.

The first ACDSee link says the offer is expired, but the “pcmag” link resulted in receiving a serial number via e-mail from ACDSee. In the e-mail — translated from German — it said
To start ACDSee 8, you simply slide your PC Magazine, Computer Shopper and
Internet Magazine CD into your computer, follow the instructions to install and
give. Below your license code.
I was able to download Xequite Pix Manager immediately, and the regristration page said I should get a serial number via e-mail within 24 hours.

Additional: I installed PM8 as a trial and went to enter license code. I has a 5 part code broken by dashes. The code I received from acdsee only has 4 parts.

Have to give this a miss as I have said in the survey that Picasa is the only one I need to manage my photos.
Actually it does more than manage photos. It also have photo editing & enhancements and also web upload.

Hi folks…it didn’t work for me and i tried a few different downloads too but wrong serial number box comes up and the install wizard freezes, waiting for the correct number. I have tried a couple of times but the install just goes to the “finish” page. Oh well, some you win…..
I might try their Pro version in the morning.
I registered for the pix manager though lol.

i think all this searching is useless, obviously because the installer is a special version which no file hosting website has (or should have).
best option is to buy that magazine and upload it to a file hosting website (rapidshare?) and provide the link from here, otherwise its useless.

This would be a first among hundreds magazines promotions revealed here and there.
ACDSee wants everything. It became huge, slow… just like Nero. I think that’s why ACDSee loses some market.
However, there’re less competitors in Burning area as photo management. No one can compete Nero, but a lot of ones can compete ACDSee.

Sad but true.
There might be even more problems even if we got the installer. If You remember ACDSee for Pentax you might not know that there is ACDSee for Pentax 3.0, but it needs CD inside (sic!) http://www.acdsee.com/support/products/acdsee/3/pentax
But still if anyone could try to get installer from cd and test it that would help a lot, and situation mentioned above is not very likely.

I already tried to propose this for another set of programs but it is in fact illegal to distribute the magazine “property”.. anything on the internet is to be found.. but hardcopies shouldn’t be distributed.. i know it’s not good but we should repsect what this community has worked for so far..!!!

The Smart Pix Manager email with the license key takes about 4-6 hours to show up. So hang in there if you haven’t seen yours, yet–it’s on the way.

This looks massively difficult!
Searched many places, found and tested several downloads, all to no avail.
Even managed to track down the link for the magazines parent company, these three magazines (along with some others) are published in German by http://www.magnus.de/
The software part is here: http://software.magnus.de/ and the ACDSee section is here: http://software.magnus.de/grafik-video-audio/download/acdsee.html but it is another dead-end as they only offer links to download versions 10 and 11.
It is beginning to dawn on me that this must be one of the “only” giveaway where you actually need the DVD from the magazine.
It might be found in an illegal wat but I will “never” go that route!

What a pity the lack of a live download for ACDSee Photo Manager is, especially for the enthousiasts of photo related stuff. But I have faith in this community, eventually it’ll be unearthed.
