Thanks guys. As I don’t own an iSomething, I have no use for the specific iSomething apps, but the splitter-joiner-cutter soft can come in handy.
Just downloaded/installed the ipod transfer and it requires a registration code…it is a 30 day trial only.

I do not have an iPod or an iPhone so the other apps are not needed.
I have installed all three without problems and on starting them, each have a small advertisement for a percentage (%) taken off their ultimate converter in the near-upper right corner and on clicking help, the register link is grayed out.
I also tested the splitter and joiner and they work but the funny thing is that both the splitter and the joiner ends up creating bigger files.
Let me recap, I took the Wmv video tutorial on Mail that came with my Vista basic on the computer and I used the splitter to “ahem” split it in two and then used the Joiner to put it back together.
The original file was 7.59 MBs, the two split files were about 4.3 MBs each (8.6 MBs total) and the joined back version was 19.6 MBs (more than two times the original).
Other than, it runs fine and I think this behaviour is caused by the particular Codec(s) they use!
I hope you guys don’t take my participation as anything else but that. I wounder if you are talking about me. I hope not I don’t think so but it would be a big quintessence but it could be, I truly hope so. I think I will pass on this one thank anyways

Aimersoft is blacklisted by hpHosts for grass roots marketing (nothing malicious or the likes):
hosts-file.net/default.asp?s=www.aimersoft.com.
So, if anyone trust the site but has trouble accessing it, you need to exclude it from your Hosts file.
As for myself, though I thank you 4Free, I’ll pass on this one.

While these software offerings seemed good at first , after some more usage they have proven to be not so good!
The size problem is not going away so if I have to use another program to trim the fat, why would I be using these in the first place.
In short, they create more problems than solutions!
