Xilisoft DVD Creator 3 (RRP $35,95) - 4Free. Is it worth ?

Nikola is the first to share this. He posted it on 4Free-Community, and we cannot blame him.
Our readers know very well Xilisoft was on “The Scumbags Hall of Shame” and we have noticed some pro-Xilisoft voices.
We’ll use the today’s post to highlight again some “strange” aspects regarding Xilisoft.
Who knows ?! … Just like in Sothink’s case that list can be “a bit too severe”. But - to be honest - we doubt it !.
Xilisoft seems to be one of the numerous Chinese developers selling the same video and audio converting apps under different names. Like we have already said - this can be “nothing but” a violent form web-marketing … But it is obviously UNFAIR both for other honest competitors AND for the final user - who can be tricked with ease.
Although the apps portfolio could recommend Xilisoft as a very serious company ( maybe Xilisoft IS the mother-company ), when you read their “About” page it says … nothing.
The strangest point - in our humble opinion - is the Contactprivacy Whois protection. A software developer who keeps secret those details - so important in the eyes of the final user !!!
Of course winning “the 12th Proregi Award as one of the three best software in second half 2008 from Vector, the largest software download site in Japan ” … Can mean a lot.
Who knows ?! Maybe Xilisoft is the real one among the long chain of clones ! … Or not at all in this dirty game ?!
The 4Free Community would certainly like to understand more about Xilisoft, a brand promoted on serious sites like GOTD.com, Winload.de, etc …

1. Like usual on Winload.de, you must register to their newsletter HERE, by simply filling in your email address and hit “Los!”
2. On their first email message you must click on the confirmation link. That’s it ! Your default browser will open a page where you can see your license key and the download link ( You also receive it in a second email message ).

Like said - like in Sothink’s case - we would very much like to understand more about Xilisoft … And to hear from 4Free’ers about their experience with Xilisoft products..

The only available language (in the installer) is German. Any English ones ? As on the official website the version is 6 ?

Maybe they’re not working full power on weekends .
Got the serial and the installer. Installed no problems in german. But wont register using the serial. Anyone else having the same problem?
Language issue is taken care easily though.
To do this just go to
afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/xilisoft_dvd_creator.cfm/v3_0_45_1023
and download this slightly older build.
Install and copy english language file from here
C:\Program Files\Xilisoft\DVD Creator3\lang and rename it to Deutsch.lang and move to desktop. Then uninstall and reinstall german version for correct build then replace language file with one from desktop from lang directory.
Start the porgram and its almost all in english apart from offer which comes up to start.
Heads up to everyone
My kaspesky has found trojan inside. Beware I think there is a virus lurking in the install as just had some bizar activity. explorer.exe got stoppped and renamed to explorer.vbk and hh.exe was found in that same windows folder. Just seems a little strange I had no problems before installing.

The integrity of the software company matters! Therefore I will give this a miss too. Better not to have, than to have been had!
This is the only website I am aware of that actually checks this kind of dishonest selling, (and warns its readers) Much appreciated guys.
I used xilisoft DVD ripper ultimate and it works well for me. I got that through registration and I didn’t find abnormal spam mail activity in my mailbox so far.Hence, I believe there must be some misunderstand. Xilisoft product is user-friendly but the functions are too limited(perhaps this is the price for making it easy to use?) I am not so care on where it come from as long as it’s a malicious-intention-free product.

They all look the same, with minor differences.
You’re doing right to warn everybody .
I remember I have once tried one of Xilisoft video converters and I was not happy with the final result .
Mainly with the speed. It took like ages to convert a 700M divX into a fflv file.
But that was 1-2 years ago.

Not sure what to think about them. I heard before and found out there are many companies with software that look the same, but can’t be sure who’s the original developer.

Not too sure over the confusion concerning Xilisoft.
All I can comment is that I have ConvertXtoDVD 4, it is a fantastic piece of Software and I have had no PC issues full stop, my Security is Spyware Doctor , Malwarebytes and Avast, all registered versions, and all happy.
I don`t need this upload, thanks for the offer guys.
I had very good results from Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate 5, which has been on my machine for almost 2 years, and did not lead to any increase in spam.
I found the download and installation of this software to be simple and smooth.

For converting video’s I use formatfactory. And I haven’t had the need for a DVD Creator, but I do have ‘ashampoo burning studio v9.12′ from this site and I have ‘DVD Flick’ and ‘Free DVD Creator’ (both of them are free. See:

Thanks for the clarification about the type of spamming activities allegedly conducted by Xilisoft and related companies. I hadn’t read the discussions thoroughly.
I finally received my e-mail in a Spam folder. Unfortunately the installation is in Deutsch
I received an email yesterday from them announcing the offer so I just checked the link and can confirm it is working at least for now. Enjoy.
