Disk Suite link doesn´t work. You get redirected to the shop buying the product for £39.99. I tried a lot of UK proxies. Everywhere the same effect.
Is there another link or workaround?
The promotion is still there.
PC Tools distribute only 1 key per every IP.
You can be sure all those proxies you have tried have been already used.
But there are a lot of UK proxies out there ( unlike the Australian ones )
Anyway, if you won’t be lucky … Another promotion will certainly occur.

The PC Tools Disk Suite looks useful. Back in the “old days” (from MS-DOS until Win 98), there were many software tools for checking hard disks. That completely disappeared with the 32-bit versions of Windows (2000, XP and later): the disk checker tool buit into Windows (ChkDsk) was the only thing availalble. Even the once-awesome Norton Utilities became little more than a file cleaner and registry cleaner.
I don’t know the reason for this: maybe it was just so incredibly powerful and accurate there was no point to create anything else. Or maybe it prevented other tools from working. [Anyone knowledgeable about this out there?]
So this item is one of the few items which CLAIMS to actually seek and repair hard drive problems. Let’s see what happens when I install and run it…
… Back again. Too bad. All it does when you click “Repair disk” or “Surface scan” is run Windows ChkDsk at the next reboot. Nothing to get excited over here.

If you have registered … Doesn’t East-Tec supply the download link with the licence email ( like they usually do ) ?
PCTools Disk Suite is still available. For non-UK, free access via proxy gives a registration form (including email address for the registration code and UK address and postal code). Then use the direct download link above for the installation executable.
I laughed past the Avira “offer” and skipped the East Tec promotion since I have had problems with it in the past and I like the last free ware version of BCWipe and the forever free Heide Eraser.
I would highly recommend the East Tec promotion. I have used 2009 and currently use 2010. No complaints or problems. Does a great job cleaning. Will pass on the other two as I already have similar software.
Thanks for the good work. I think I’m a bit too late for the PC Tools one. Yes, the offer is still on, but I’ve gotten sufficiently tired of trying different proxy servers only to find they’ve already been used, that I’d rather buy the thing. Oh well, my own fault for working too late.

You may want to try the free DTI Windows Surface Scanner from (http://www.dtidata.com/windowssurfacescanner/). It runs directly from the Windows without any need for reboot and does a thorough job of detecting bad sectors.
Another thing, it scans the whole hard drive instead of partitions and it scans external drives also.
